knitmeapony,
sadsadmonkey and myself used to, as many of you know, play a variety of Slytherins. During that time, we came up with a list of hard and fast rules we thought all Slytherins who followed the true teachings of Salaazar Slytherin would live by, if they were smart (and most of them were, IMHO). After the rather shoddy showing of Slytherins in the last book, I was feeling a little glum (plus family insanity), so
knitmeapony dug up the old list for me.
Re-reading it made me long for the days of the Slytherins of yore, and so now I turn to you, my writing friends. I'm giving you the Tenants of Slytherin, in hopes that people will be inspired to write some truly great Slytherin fiction. Pleeeeeeease, give me the love of the Snake back? Please? I'm not asking for epics - maybe just some drabbles. It would ease my soul after HPDH.
1 - Be thou conscious of power
2 - Be thou conscious of your own abilities, strengths, and weaknesses.
3 - Be thou conscious of the abilities, strengths, and weaknesses of those around you.
4 - Do nothing thou are not prepared to accept the consequences for.
5 - Allow no one to escape the consequences of their own actions.
6 - Tolerate nothing that is useless, and disregard nothing that is useful.
7 - The only sins are stupidity, betrayal, and weakness.
Have at it!
Also, has anyone read my friend Dave Crampton? You should. He just put out two fantastic stories -
Spax, and he's putting out Two Vampires soon. He's one of my favorite authors, so I'm pimpin' him here. Go forth! Read! Is good!
