This is fucking bullshit. Joe Arpaio is an attention-whoring poster-child for an American police state that loves to jump on the current anti-crime bandwagon. Every single time a story breaks about federal authorities making a big bust in some area, be it illegal immigration, drugs, or even "dog fighting," this cocksucker plays up his "contribution" to the federal "war of the week" in some pathetic hope to be appointed to some position where his illegal treatment of suspects and Maricopa County Jail inmates won't be so closely scrutinized.
But this motherfucker is not just some sort of lone nut. He is indicative of the trend in local law enforcement to champion federal causes over local concerns. Don't let this man fool you. He doesn't give a shit if his constituents are safer. He just wants to look good.
