Life is grand. We just need a new place to live--SOON. The tiny apartment has become cramped. My plants that live inside are dying because sunlight does not exist in caves. My clothes are growing out of the closet. My panties like the floor better than they like the drawers. The sinks are backing up and overflowing. The carpets get soaked and smell like mildew while we fan them out and pray for them to dry over the course of two days.
But my dog is happy. She likes the deck, and she likes the cracks of light that slip in through the blinds and warm the carpet fuzz.
Still, a yard is much more suitable for a queen.
[Is this the second weekend in a row that I spent camping or does it just seem that way? I love the forest. I love the slugs, the newts, the ravens, the sunbeams, the redwoods, the creeks, the spiders that hang from my hair and even the mountain lions that stalk you while you're hiking.]
