Eliot never knew what to expect when he approached Nathan's bed. Drunken belligerence. Remorseful sobbing. The wise friend with kind eyes. The silly guy with the bizarre comments. The wickedly clever lover with all the tricks up his sleeve.
But Eliot kept coming, more and more often recently. He would yell at the belligerent drunk, hold the sobbing man in his arms until he cried himself to sleep, and do as much as Nate would let him with the other reactions.
This time, as Eliot stood over the bed, eyes fixed on Nathan to gauge his mood, Nathan said, "What big blue eyes you have."
Eliot grinned. Silly Nate.
So he gently tugged down Nate's blanket and said, "The better to look you up and down with."
Nathan smiled, and said in his slow deliberate voice, "My, what big hair you have."
Eliot straddled Nathan and leaned forward, stopping inches from his face, so that his hair was gently rustling across Nate's cheeks and ears. "The better to seduce you with."
Nathan grinned. "And what nice plump lips you have, Eliot. Tell me what those are for."
Eliot gave him a wicked look. He leaned over and bit down on Nathan's shoulder, savoring the taste as Nathan shuddered. "Isn't it obvious, Nathan? Those are to hide my big, bad teeth."
