Wednesday: Fusions

May 26, 2009 23:30

Hi, guys. I'm jade_starlight and I'm still your Guest Host for the week. *g*

Today we're going with fusions, taking the characters from one fandom and fitting them into another fandom's universe. What would the Winchesters be like living in the Farscape universe, or Gibbs' team in Starfleet? The sky's the limit. Your prompt can either be just the universe you ( Read more... )

Jim was absolutely thrilled as he and Spock walked down the non-descript corridors of Starbase 11. Finally, after an eternity - well, maybe six or seven months - of doing little more than shuttling ambassadors and looking like Fine Upstanding Heros for Starfleet, the Enterprise was getting some sort of very secret, hush-hush assignment that would involve actual exploration and hopefully some ass-kicking. Whatever it was, it required them to hook up with two other cruisers, the Odyssey and the AtlantisWhen they reached their assigned conference room, there were two officers wearing command gold and captains' stripes talking with each other, although from the way they were first practically lip to lip and then sprang apart 'talking' wasn't the only they they were interested in. Both were easily fifteen years older the Jim; one looked like any of the dozens of farmers he had left back on Earth, and the other had pointy ears but also had haircut that a Vulcan wouldn't be caught dead with ( ... )

Oh, hilarious! I absolutely love this! Sheppard as half-Vulcan...the perfect use of the pointed ears.

His ears were the first thing I thought of, quickly followed by his issues with his feelings. Of course, I then realized that other than those he would be the worst Vulcan ever. Logic? What's logic?

Well, I don't think anyone as good at math as John apparently is (at least in some episodes) is incapable of logic. On the other hand, when it comes to actions, he does seem to be a man of instinct...

(And actually, the math thing totally fits with his Vulcan heritage.)

ETA: I love the Kzinti reference too. It's been a long time since I read those books.

Well, there's logic, and then there's the way Vulcans apply logic to everything in life. John doesn't tend to use the latter, except when it's useful for things like logically determining how best to kill a very large number of people.

What's awesome with the Kzinti is that they're actually part of the Trek universe, too. They were in one of the animated episodes and have been referenced in some other material.

I didn't know the Kzinti had actually appeared in Star Trek. Possibly because I've never seen any of the animated episodes. That would be an interesting fusion (and might explain why mirrorverse Uhura carried a knife).

No, I'm pretty sure mirrorverse Uhura carried a knife just so she could cut people with it. I don't think she needed any other reason. ;)
