May 25, 2009 23:51

Today we're going with episode titles. Your prompt should be the title of any television show episode, and it certainly doesn't have to be from the fandom you're prompting, nor does the answering fic have to have anything at all to do with the actual episode. Also, please include ( Read more... )

RPS, Chris/Steve, The Wedding Job (Leverage) yanzadracan May 28 2009, 02:40:28 UTC
Steve had hit a road block in the song he was working on for the new album, and he couldn’t find the motivation to pick up the musical score he’d been working on, so for a change of pace, he grabbed his credentials and journal, then caught the city bus to visit Chris on set.

The cast was having one of their easier days. They’d just finished one episode and were starting to run through the scenes for the new one. One of the PA’s had gotten him settled where he could watch without being in the way, when he heard Beth yell.

“Hey! Steve’s here!” She waved wildly from where they were gathered around the writers and director.

He blushed hotly at the attention, until he noticed John talking to Chris, and Chris shrugging his shoulders and nodding. The writer motioned for Steve to come over to the group.

“Steve, we need a favor,” John started, “these guys all have something they need to be doing,” a look got everyone moving but Chris and Tim, “and Tim wants two people standing before the pulpit to practice the scene where he’s performing the ceremony. Mind standing in for us?”

A quick glance around the room showed everyone had truly left.

“Sure. I don’t mind.” He said sheepishly.

A thrill shot through his system at being asked to help followed by a twinge of sadness that he and Chris would probably never have this because of Chris having such a public presence.

His reverie was broken by Tim.

“If you kids would join hands.” Tim state solemnly.

Steve was surprised when Chris grabbed both his hands and looked at Tim as if they were actually filming. Following his lead he gave the actor his attention while savoring the warmth of Chris’ hands on his in a public place.

Tim rattled on about shopping carts in Home Depot and teaching dogs baseball. His attention wondered to what was happening on the rest of the sound stage until the words, ‘Do you have the rings?’ pierced his brain.

His eyes snapped to Chris who was being handed something by Aldis while Beth and Gina were smiling and sniffling.

“Do you Christian Michael Kane commit yourself to this man?” Tim intoned in his best preacher’s voice.

Steve’s eyes got wide when Chris looked into his eyes and answered, “I do.” Chris slipped a white gold band on the ring finger of his left hand.

Beth nudged Steve and handed him a ring. Tim looked at Steve.

“Do you Steven Paul Carlson commit yourself to this man?”

Steve looked from Tim to Beth, Gina, Aldis and the rest of the crew watching. Dean was grinning at him holding a video camera. Then he saw Jensen, Jared, Jason, and the rest of their friends that were on hiatus while Leverage was still shooting. By the time his eyes made it back to Chris, the blue eyes were looking worried.

The smile that broke across Steve’s smile face was like the sunrise. “I do.” He slipped the matching band on Chris’ finger as everyone breathed in relief.

“You may…whatever.” Tim snickered.

Chris grabbed him for a kiss that left him panting and light headed while Beth teased Aldis about taking notes.

“I know it’s not the real thing, but I just wanted everyone to know…wanted to let you know how much it means that you put up with all my crap.”

“I hope they got that on tape. I think that’s the most words Kane ever strung together about his feelings.” Jensen teased.

“Shut up, Jenny.” Chris growled.

“It was great, Chris. Now when our mamas find out I’m telling them it was your idea.” Steve teased.

“Great, at least I’ll leave a good lookin’ corpse.”

“How did you know I was going to be here today?” Steve asked.

“You told me this morning how stir crazy you were going, so I figgered today, tomorrow at the latest.” Chris shrugged.

“What? You set this whole wedding script thing just to fool me?” He voice was incredulous.

John Rogers started to snicker, then the rest of the cast started to laugh. He handed Steve a copy of the script.

“Oh no-this is our real script. The name of the episode is the ‘Wedding Job’.
