"It's you!"

Rose turned round to see a man in a black leather jacket who, it appeared, had just stopped mid-step when he saw her, and was now looking at her with an expression of utmost excited delight on his face. Which would have been great and all, only she'd never seen him before in her life.

"Uh... what?"

"Rose! It's me! How are you? What are you up to?"

Rose looked up at the bus stop sign next to her, then back to the strange man. "... waiting for a bus?"

His face fell. "Oh. I haven't met you yet, have I?"

Rose shook her head, slowly.

"Or, rather, you haven't met me." He sighed. "Stupid time lines, gets so confusing -" His face suddenly brightened again. "TIME! I forgot to tell you it travels through TIME!"

He suddenly turned round and started sprinting back the way he had come. He didn't get very far, though, before he skidded to a halt and dashed back to Rose.

"Uh, quick thing - in a few months, a year, maybe, you might meet someone who looks a bit like me, strangely familiar - it's just a coincidence, OK?"

"Um. OK?"

"Fantastic." He beamed at her. "See you in a minute! Well, I'll see you, but you won't see me till - ugh, this is so confusing. Bye!"

And he turned and sprinted off back down the street again. Rose watched him go, utterly baffled, and made a mental note to install an extra door-chain on the door.
