Instead of gender bending via plot device, let’s see what happens when they’ve always been that way. How different do you think our characters would be? This is also a great way to play with fandoms that have a scarcity of either gender

White Collar, any, Neil is a woman

Peter finds her in an empty studio apartment, pressed up against a wall and sitting on the cold hardwood floor. The first thing he notices is her tight, dark blue skinny jeans followed by her ratty t-shirt that doesn't look so ratty on her. What? He's a man that's what he notices he can't help it so don't judge.

It only takes him a few seconds to move on to her face which is streaked by tears. She doesn't acknowledge him only sets the wine bottle in her hand on the floor and continues to look forward.

"You know they're all the same. They promise forever and that they'll stick by you but that all falls flat in the face of waiting. It's been two years..two and he didn't even have the decency to tell me to my face, I had to hear it from Kate."

That's when she looks up at him, tear stained face filled with pain that's he's sure is only a fraction of what she's actually feeling.

"Just take me back."

A week later...Peter finds her on a rooftop in only a lavender shift, sitting and drinking tea

This is awesome. :D Good job with keeping it in character, but with plenty of great details that fit with the always-a-woman scenario.
