Regarding Coding and Sorting
Hey guys! I hope the week is starting off well for y'all. I just have a little business I need to attend to... First I have a request for volunteers. And then I have a message to some of my code monkeys.
First, I'm still in need of volunteers. I know some people enjoy participating in the Lonely Prompt contests and a lot of people like being able to hit up the archive to read things. And for this to work, I need you guys to help me out. This is the type of thing that if I don't have enough people regularly doing this work, the mods will have to re-evaluate what we're capable of offering you in terms of archiving and contests.
I need a regular coder for Thursdays. This means you will add all new prompts to the Delicious archives for your assigned day.
I also need two sorters. One for Sundays and one for Wednesdays. You will sort through all your assigned prompts looking for completed ones, change tags, and add data to a list for me to post from. The fewer volunteers I have, the harder it is for the ones still doing the work to get their jobs done, and it can be very time consuming.
If you're interested, please comment or PM me with your email as well as which day you're interested in, and I'll get back to you with more details.
Now, to my code monkeys - This isn't to all of you, just a few people. I'm not going to call you out by name but there's a few of you whom I have emailed and PMed regarding either new volunteers, or something not being done.
Please get back to me. I'm not asking. I need to know if you're still doing your work, so that if you're not I can get things covered. And if you do not respond to email or PM, I have no other way to contact you than to do a general broadcast like this.
I understand that life happens, that things can get crazy or go terribly wrong. But at some point you should be able to shoot me a tiny message letting me know what's going on. You volunteered, so while the comm obviously needs to take a back seat to real life, you have the responsibility to give us that much.
If you do not get back to me by Friday I'm going to assume that you're no longer volunteering, for one reason or another, and put out the request to have your spots covered.
