Greetings all! amara_m, here for day four of the week. It's Thursday already? I set aside my Mod-cap and don a Host-cap instead this week

"Think of it this way," John said finally, pausing in cleaning his gun. "If the vampire is standing at the treeline and I'm beside the impala, and we both start running at the same time, where will we meet each other?"
Dean scribbled nonsense on the corner of his looseleaf paper, curling lines and top hats lining up along the edge. "You wouldn't," Dean answered petulantly, "Cause you'd never run at a vampire, cause they're dangerous. You'd get the jump on them, or make a trap."
John looked at him for a long moment, a strange little smile curling at the corner of his mouth. He looked back at the shotgun in his hands, and started cleaning it again. "Yeah. You're right about that." He didn't look up as Dean grinned.
Leverage/Torchwood, Eliot/Captain Jack, Fancy Meeting You Here...trillianastraMarch 4 2010, 18:28:30 UTC
Eliot stopped dead in his tracks. “Harkness?”
Jack raised an eyebrow. “Eliot, what are you doing here…” He caught sight of the bag Eliot was carrying, and the (to him) obviously faked ID he was wearing, and groaned. “You’re here for the artifact, aren’t you?”

His bag rested heavy on his shoulders, everything he’d own from now on carefully packed inside.
Ninty-three dollars sat in his jacket’s inner pocket, all the money he had.
He held a bus ticket in his hand. It would get him west through two states. He’d have to find some other way to keep going.
The bus rolled in and he boarded, never looking back. There was no one left to look back to. There was nothing left to hold him here.
When he got off the bus he’d be leaving his name behind like everything else tieing him to this place.
Slowly the bus pulled away from the station and he fixed his eyes out the front window, watching fields of wheat fly by alongside the road he was on.
Years later he’d use that day as his birthday.
That one golden afternoon in June when he left home.
