Jensen wasn’t clear on when he started keeping track of these things. It was some weird counting habit that had sort of snuck up on him. Something would happen, he would look at the situation in relation to himself and Jared, and then he’d figure out the score.

Number of shows on WB/CW network prior to Supernatural - Tied. Gilmore Girls for Jared and Smallville for him. That was kind of cool…balanced.

Number of siblings and position in the family roster - Tied. They each had a big brother and a younger sister. That was cool too.

In the beginning that was all it was, just keeping track of random stuff where it turned out that they were usually tied. But the longer they worked together the more time Jensen had to compare stuff.

Number of times stumbling into the other’s home/room brokenhearted over a girl - Jared was definitely ahead in that category; the whole thing with Sandy had kind of wrecked him.

Number of houses owned - Jared was ahead in that one too. Paying rent didn’t count and Jensen didn’t technically own anything.

For whatever reason, it had started to bother Jensen that, at least in the things he was keeping track of, Jared was tied or ahead. He wanted to find something that he could not only pull ahead on, but that he could do first. Sometime in the near future the scorecard in his head would look like this…

Number of proposals made - one and only one - Jensen.

It would be okay with Jensen if Jared pulled ahead again by being the only one to answer “Yes”.

Thank you. This was nice and great to read. It would be nice to see if there get any changings between them and if the 'yes' will come.
