Six months on and Ichabod still wasn’t used to the muted palette of his “accommodations;” white on grey on white. It matched his mood, which was unvaried due to the medication they fed him. He didn’t know what was in those pills, but it evened him out until he didn’t know who or where he was. He barely had a handle on that to begin with. He knew he’d been transported to the future, several centuries hence. But why or how wasn’t clear. He felt sure that Katrina had something to do with it; she was a witch, after all. But beyond that, he had no idea. He floated on his billowing consciousness like a raft on the waves
