Good morning, everyone! It’s meteorfire here once again, this time to present what’s up for Thursday.

Sherlock Holmes knows many things. He has the eye for it, he knows where to look and how to interpret, and he's rarely wrong. He might mistake a sister for a brother - it happens, as precedence has proven, and it's an amateur, albeit simple error - but Sherlock Holmes is never caught by surprise.

Once again, John Watson seems to exist to prove everything Sherlock knows to be right, wrong.

Still, Sherlock guesses straight away, when he first lays eyes on her. It's written all over, especially in the tan line around her ring finger. Yet, somehow, a part of Sherlock's brain finds it difficult to assimilate, despite the obvious evidence.

John isn't married. She can't be his wife.

One look at John's face, though, and you didn't need be a consulting detective to know that you're right.

"Excuse us," Sherlock says curtly to the lady, and drags a speechless John into the room next door with a slam before either can protest. "You have a wife"Had," John corrects dizzily, sinking onto the closest chair. "I haven't seen Mary in years ( ... )
