Truth #1: "Thank you so much! I love you all for coming!"

His father, in tears, begs him to stay: to forego the madness of the Noldor, to stay true to the Valar.
Well, Glorfindel answers, he must stay true to Turgon, though his father will not. (His blood is stirred, too, by the words of Fëanor, and yearning for freedom in the wilds of Beleriand, though he does not say it).
In the end he leaves, and never turns back. Still, he never forgets the sound of his proud, proud mother's weeping.
