Aug 12, 2019 00:00

Hi! I’m brumeier, and this week we’re going to be filling themes inspired by the movie Grease (And Grease 2 because I like it and I’m not sorry!), using 100 words or any multiple of 100. Today’s theme is SCHOOL. Any school related prompts are fair game today, whether your characters are in high school or college, or they’re teaching, or maybe just breaking ( Read more... )

(Crossover with the movie Proof of Life.)

"McGarrett!"

Steve went to the door of the quonset hut that served as his office when he heard someone holler his last name at the top of their lungs.

"McGarrett!"

"Dino?" Steve asked surprised to see his redheaded former SEAL teammate.

"In the flesh," Dino quipped with his arms outstretched and his trademark cheeky grin plastered on his tan face.

Steve stepped out of the hut and caught hold of the redhead. He pulled him into a fierce yet brief hug. It had been several years since he had last since the other man.

"You running this joint now?" Dino asked once they were settled in hut nursing a couple of beers.

"Yeah, my dad retired and handed it off to me a couple of years ago," Steve replied. "What have you been up to?"

"I run a kidnap and ransom business with a bone-headed Aussie," Dino told him.

"Sounds like fun," Steve remarked with a dry chuckle.

"It can be at times," Dino agreed. "It's the main reason I'm here."

"Oh?"

"I've got a couple of new employees that need a refresher course in survival training and I thought about this place," Dino explained between sips of beer.

"You've got good timing. I've got a new class starting in the next two days," Steve teased. "How many can I expect, and are they male or female?"

"Two. One male and one female," Dino replied. "Don't go easy on them."

"Oh, my team won't go easy on them," Steve promised.

"Perfect," Dino murmured. "They're good kids, but they just need a reminder that what we do can go tits up in a moment's notice and they need to be able handle it without getting anyone killed."

Steve nodded. He remembered handling a few dicey mission where hostages had been involved as a SEAL. "So how long you going to be around?"

"Til the end of the week," Dino answered as he finished his beer. "The Aussie wants to go to the Caymans and visit the money."

"Yeah, sure he does," Steve quipped remembering how Dino could be around large sums of unattended money.

"Fuck you," Dino retorted without heat.

"You're not my type," Steve immediately shot back.

Dino chuckled. "So you got any plans for tonight?"

"I was going to grill some steaks for my team," Steve answered. He stood up, stretched and tossed his empty bottle in the recycle bin. "It's a sorta thank God we survived dinner. You're welcome to join us, and you can bring the Aussie."

"Sounds good," Dino said standing up and stretching. "And the Aussie is in England visiting his kid, so it's just me."

"Then follow me," Steve said with a grin as he left the hut. "You can be my sous chef."

"The things I talk myself into," Dino muttered under his breath as dropped his empty bottle into the recycling bucket as he followed Steve from the hut.

Not familiar with the movie, but this has a cool, edgy quality to it. Thank you for the fill!
