OH GOD PLEASE NEVER EVER IN MY LIFE.
Dark and terrible place.
Dark.
So dark.
Star Trek is really incredible. It, along with most sci-fi, allows for a really special investigation of human nature by providing us with non-humans that exhibit specific human qualities-- reason, anger, etc.-- that let us understand our sort of internal/societal system of checks and balances on behavior. Do we want to be Klingons? Probably not. But their obsession with honor and battle can certainly be found among people, especially during a time of war. Do we want to be Spock? Well, I do, but most people don't, because if we had his singularly logical view of things, it would stifle our emotion. Damn. Star Trek is deep.
