During a rearrangement of the flat I came across these pewter pebbles, a remnant from Christmas of last year, and casually placed them in this bowl. I ignored them for a while, and then found that I was lingering on the bowl whenever I passed.
I think there's something poignant about the words, bright and unsubtle, surrounded by the real, more superior pebbles. But we don't notice the real thing, we are only concerned with the obvious and artificial. And that's okay, if the artificial leads us to a greater understanding of the natural.
