I thought the Dominicans were unbeatable, but
shows what I know. Good work, Cuba.
Of course, the Cuban government makes me plenty uneasy, and the "revolutionary" parroting of slogans is a little dreary. Still, hearing the left fielder say:
"Baseball is not judged by the price of the athletes but by the heart of the people."
is at least more charming than the typical big-league prosaic "we gave it 110%, played our hardest, they're a good team, we just came out strong and didn't let up, blah blah blah."
I'm sure somebody will be pissed if Cuba wins it all on Monday. A whole lot of somebodies. This was not how the script was written, I'm sure.
