Have PIF Will Travel

*knows he should go to the bridge to do the paperwork Chekov mentioned and report for duty but must make a stop in his quarters for a few minutes. He sits on his favorite chair with, his elbows on his knees and his hands on his face covering his eyes trying to maintain control.*

Personal Log: I finally made a device that created a PIF and brought me home, leaving my husband, my heart behind on Jonathan Archer's ship. We agreed... actually I insisted on trying it out first, since it only took one person at a time and contacting him as soon as I got here to let him know it was successful and so he could follow. I was holding a contact device in my hand when I left Leonard that would use the energies of the PIF to send a message back, but when I got here the contact device was gone.

I now have no way to tell Leonard that I was succesful. By the time I could make another device that would use the PIF's energy to send a message back in time there would be no PIF energy left to use. I know of no other way to send a message back in time.

Without the knowledge that the PIF maker I created is safe, I doubt Leonard will use it. He is, after all, still reluctant to use the transporter no matter how often it has been demonstrated to be mostly safe. I might now be forever separated from my husband, my soulmate. Unless I create another PIF device and use it and a communicating device to reach him. That will take a few months though, so I find myself wishing with all I am that my husband will decide to "damn the circumstances" and "leap in where Angels fear to tread" by using the device I created to come home to me.

For now, I must go to the bridge, report in and start catching up on the backlog of work my absence will have created.

End log.

*breathes in deeply a few times to get to his Vulcan center and then leaves his quarters for the bridge*
