1. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Rose listened to the eerie yet compelling voice talk to each of them. Telling them things that no one would or should ever know. He'd known that she was far from home and time. It wasn't that it was a secret it was that no one on the star base knew that. She and the Doctor hadn't mentioned where they were from or where they were going. There was no way that thing, the Beast, should know that.
Then he said something that chilled her to her bones. She was going to die in battle. Rose had known that one day she would die with the Doctor. Too many times they'd saved the Earth or some other planet and barely made it out alive themselves. To hear that though, as if it were going to happen soon scared her. She couldn't admit it, not to the Doctor or anyone else, but she was scared. Rose was only twenty years old and not ready to die no matter how much she was prepared for it.
"Doctor?"
"Don't listen to him, Rose. Don't you see what he's trying to do?"
He was right. She knew that the Beast was just trying to scare her. The thing was, it was working. She just had to deal with it like she did the other times that she was scared. Rose had to put it away and concentrate on helping getting the Doctor and Ida back up. The difference was this time while she was working, she kept hearing his voice saying over and over 'lost in battle'.
