I used to read at least fifty books a year, religiously writing reviews on Goodreads for each volume. Now? I have hardly read a page of anything since the 31st January. Well, that's not quite true. Back in January I was two-thirds of the way through Martin Walker's latest - Bruno's Challenge. I have picked it up, read a page or two and put it back down.
I tried to stimulate my enjoyment of reading by buying the TV themed tie-in paperback for The Ipcress File, having watched the series on ITV and of course the original movie starring Michael Caine, many years ago. I first read the book by Len Deighton back in the 60s. It was first published in 1962. Here it is then. And I have tried. I manage one chapter and put it down. Five days on and I have managed six chapters. There is still no desire to really get stuck into it...
