999 in their infinite wisdom decided that an ambulance was not required (!) and that I should speak with my GP. This, after NHS111 had told me to 'phone for an ambulance. My GP upgraded my medication to Co-codamol 30/500. The pain is still severe. I cannot manage the crutches; insufficient upper body strength. So, here I sit in extreme pain. GP reckons that I have sciatica. I will get to see Ros today if I have to crawl into the hospital.
GOOD NEWS: Ros is eating a little solid food. Her biopsy will be performed tomorrow (Saturday). Depending on the outcome she will be started on a course of strong steroids to hopefully reduce the mass so that she can breathe unaided and eat small amounts of food. I don't want to raise my hopes too much but the medical team suggested that, if this all goes well, then Ros could come home within a week whilst awaiting further treatment.
Somehow, come hell or high water, I have to get to see Ros at 2:00pm today...
My neighbour has been brilliant. I could not manage without her.
