Not much in the way of news, but lots and lots of interviews this week!
Bad news first...JC crushes any lingering hope of an NSync reunion, and apparently there were a lot of lingering hopes, because a lot of people had to write about it...here. And here. And here. And here.
Jordan Knight spoke to the Herald Sun, and commented on the Boys:
Knight admits he was always a Backstreet Boys fan.
He says, enthused: "Man, they can really sing.
"They all have different voices, but when they sing together, it creates a blend that is really unique and their own.
"There is no mistaking a Backstreet Boys song."
So who's better: NKOTB or BSB?
"Honestly, collectively, I think they're much better vocally," Knight replies.
"I think, pound for pound, they are a vocal group. New Kids are known more for being entertainers.
"I'm not saying we can't sing. I'm not saying that at all. I'm saying Backstreet Boys' forte, to me, is harmonies, blending and singing. Ours is entertaining."
The hottest tour of 2012 is going to be the NKOTBSB Australian Tour, and we just had to get Joey McIntyre from New Kids On The Block into the Hot Hits Live From LA studio to get all the goss on the tour.
Howie talks to the Toronto Sun about the long development of his solo album, and having his family on tour with him:
"I started working on it back when we took our first (group) break (between 2001-2003)," said Dorough, 38, in Toronto recently promoting the disc.
"When I initially started working on it, I was going a little bit more in the Latin direction, my Latin roots, my mother being Spanish, and would work on it on and off between (Backstreet) album cycles and tours."
Nick spoke to Celebuzz about his solo tour in Japan, the BSB cruise and NKOTBSB, and talked to the UK Metro about solo work, celebrity life and crazy fans!
What’s the most extreme thing a fan’s done to meet you?
They’ve come to my house, hidden on the tour bus that happened a lot when we were younger, not so much now but there are still fanatics out there.
Have you ever had to call the police?
Some of them have become crazy and even over the past couple of years I’ve had some situations. You just need to monitor things. You need to keep watchful.
