Transitions
So if you haven't noticed yet, Justin's got a new movie coming out! In Time is a sci-fi thriller where time is literally money. I think it looks pretty awesome personally, and will be a great credit to add to Justin's growing film resume...which is growing much faster than his music resume, currently. I know some of you would probably prefer to have new music (*eyes aura_wings12*) but Justin seems pretty stuck on the acting thing right now. Which leads me to today's meta question, what do you think of musicians transitioning into acting? Or vice versa, actors transitioning into music? To be honest, I sometimes wonder if Justin's success in the music industry has made people look on his acting work more favorably than they otherwise would have (Yogi Bear, anyone?) But that's not to say that he's not talented, or capable of improving. What's your opinion of his movies thus far?
More generally, are you more interested in film or acting work from an artist if you're familiar with their music? (This is definitely true for myself. lol) Do you think that coming from one particular direction helps, or hinders, an artist's work in another area? Does it make a difference if that acting is on film, or in theatre, as Kevin has done? (Or maybe some other Syncers have done theatre, and I'm just unaware?) Kevin's also done a bit of film, notably The Casserole Club (which I hope I can get my hands on at some point!) which actually won several indie awards. Regardless of my opinions on the quality, I hope we see lots of sparkly boys on the silver screen in the future.
