Is it that he saw potential there? That she killed all 12 assassins that came before him, all while killing her own targets, without breaking a sweat. The way her skills came through in everything that she did. She was never vulnerable, always on the ball. Living up to her name; a spider lying in wait, and capturing her prey at just the right time, often catching them unaware.

Is it that her saw a super spy? Trained above and beyond a level he felt he could never master. She was a fire, a rage, but controlled. Every move seemed effortless. She was trained behind the iron curtain and it showed. Her fighting style come never be matched. She needed to be on their side. She was deadlier than the spider which she shared her name.

Is it that her saw a beautiful girl? Her fiery red hair as hot, and as fierce as she. The way it followed her through every moment as though it had a life of it’s own. Her face perfectly sculptured. Her body perfectly proportioned; she was small, but not odd looking. She was very good looking, and he had to wonder whether she’d ever used her beauty. She should. She looked the definition of a femme fatal. Her skills and talent was probably already longer than his, but she should add to it.

Whatever it was that Agent Barton saw in his target, the infamous Black Widow, it was the decision that changed both their lives. It left her with the feeling of a debt she had to repay, a new job, but also a best friend. And that she could never repay him for. Whatever it was that swayed Clint, it was now between them. Their history, and by very definition, their future.
