The hour was late and trouble was brewing in the air as Erik and Charles sat in a small town bar in a back country American city. Each of them held a drink in their hand, a whiskey for Charles and an ale for Erik, as they scanned the crowd. They had received a reading from Cerebro that there was one of their kind within the bar, but so far they hadn't found their target. "What do you think of her, eh?" Charles said to his partner in crime as he eyed up a pretty red-headed woman in a bright green dress. "A real knockout if I do say so myself."
Erik gave a sigh, "Already lost interest in the cause?"
"Well what am I supposed to do, just walk up to every person here and ask if they are a mutant?" Charles said, moving his gaze to another pretty woman, this one with tan skin and black curly hair. "No, that would draw too much attention to us and I know that I do not relish getting interrogated by the police tonight."
"Perhaps if you spent more time focusing on looking for people than eying up pretty girls we could have already found the target already."
"The person we are looking for is a pretty girl." He said with a smirk, "I am already doing my job. This is hard work, you know."
"Yes. You look like you are suffering right now." Erik ordered another round of drinks for them, "Shouldn't Cerebro given you a clearer vision of what she looked like?"
"It is not always so clear. My mind is not yet used to such a great input of information, it takes adjusting to read it clearly."
"I just wish that it could focus a little faster. The sooner we find them, the sooner we can train them."
Charles turned towards him with a sour expression on his face, "Not everything has to be about the mission you know. Sometimes you are allowed to just enjoy your time and find some good company for the night. You should give fun a shot some time, you might like it."
Erik let his eyes wander around the room, settling on a blonde haired girl with bright green eyes to watch. Charles followed his gaze and gave an approving grin. "Nice choice. She's a looker too. You going to talk to her or just stare at her?"
They watched as the girl got more and more upset at a lecherous man who was cornering her. She let out a yell as he grabbed her and the earth reached up and pulled him down into it. She looked around with shocked and scared eyes at the bar that was now staring at her.
Charles balked for a moment before Erik turned towards him with a grin, "You're right. I think that she would make lovely company for the night." He lead the walk forward, Charles quickly catching up and walking beside him.
