"How do I look?" Sam Wilson asked, stepping out of the bathroom in a tight black T-shirt, grey beanie, and a pair of jeans with holes in the knees.
Natasha Romanova stood by and looked him over appraisingly, dressed in purple sundress. She looked up at his face, "Lose the hat."
"The hat? Man the beanie is what pulls the whole look together. It gives it some flair."
"We're going for young, successful couple, not washed up college kid."
"Hey, plenty of people wear hats who are successful." He said, taking off the beanie.
Natasha gave him a smile, a crooked expression that said that she knew she was playing with him. "Besides you look better when I can see you hair."
He laughed, "Next time all you have to do is open with that." He made his way closer to her and noted that she smelled like roses today. It was an oddly girly scent for her, but it suited her.
Sam armed himself, tossing on a leather jacket to conceal the pistols he strapped to his torso. "So is there like a "being a spy 101” or something?"
Natasha laughed, "Just follow my lead and you should be fine."
He gave an appreciative laugh, "I have never had a problem letting a pretty woman take the lead."
They left the hotel and he slung an arm casually around her shoulders. Though Sam wasn't sure if her laugh was to keep up the act of being a young couple in love or something genuine he still was glad to see her smile. Damn that girl had charisma.
They exited the building and made their way through NYC, arm and arm. As they got closer to their target Natasha pulled him down an alleyway. Her eyes watched the street before she turned her gaze towards him. He breathed in the scent of her breath and roses. With confidence she pushed him up against the wall and pressed her lips to his. Sam ran a hand behind her back to press her closer as he kissed back, a bit surprised but pleased nonetheless. She ran her tongue over his making him feel giddy and dizzy with the thrill and the danger of kissing a woman who could easily kill him.
She broke away a moment later, looking up at him with a pleased grin on her face.
"That one of the perks of the job? Because I could get used to that." he asked with a smile, somewhat dazed.
"Only for the people I like.” She said with a wink, though the smile vanished from her face a moment later as business took over, “Now come on. They're no longer paying attention to us and we can scale the wall now."
Sam looked up the wall his back was against as Natasha started to climb up a pipe on the side of the building. Well, he knew it was going to be a learning experience when he agreed to help her.
