She promised herself she wouldn’t do this. Not until the War’s over, at least.

Peggy’s tired of the stares, the mumbling. The rumours, because she’s a woman and a certain class of men don’t believe she could possibly be capable of her rank and history without a man’s help.

She doesn’t need to encourage it - the gossips do quite well enough without her help.

But as each year passes, she finds her patience growing thinner. Her team are good people, they trust her because she has worked for it, they don’t question her authority.

They respect her.

The War wages on, and Peggy believes she has earned the right to a little indulgence.

So the gossips may have a field day when they find out.

If they find out.

Peggy is a talented agent and more than capable of discretion.

She promised herself she wouldn’t do this, but she understands some promises cannot be kept, and she feels no guilt for it.

How could she, when he’s spread out like this for her, naked and wide-eyed, a flush spilling down that expansive chest, so ready for her, so hard for her.

If people whisper that she is sleeping with Captain Rogers, that she is using him to advance her career, then that only proves those people don’t know the first thing about either Peggy or Steve.

Peggy licks her lips and hears his breath hitch.

Steve has always been so careful to maintain eye contact with her, never looking below her neck. Mindful of his manners, and she’s appreciated that, been amused by it but still grateful. But now she’s standing before him, clothes shed and body exposed, and he’s staring.

Lips parted, eyes darting across her skin as if he doesn’t know where to look first, expression both awed and aroused, and Peggy feels powerful and beautiful.

Peggy feels hungry.

“I don’t - I’m not -” he stutters, and she allows her smile to turn gentle as she presses a hand to his arm.

“I’ll teach you,” she promises him. “It’s just like dancing.”

She moves onto the bed, swings a leg over his waist so she’s kneeling over him. He stares up at her and she’s not sure he’s even aware of the way his hands have settled against her hips.

He’s a natural, she can already tell.

She eases one of his hands up, pressing it against the swell of her breast, and his eyes flick down to watch before snapping back up to meet her gaze, growing darker by the minute.

“You trust me?” she asks.

Steve nods, fingers squeezing her a little, not too hard, not too gentle, just enough to make her feel it. She smiles, arches her back a little to push her chest against his grip.

“Then I’ll be taking the lead,” she purrs.

“Yes, ma’am,” he grins playfully, happy and relaxed to leave himself in her capable hands, and, oh yes, he’s a natural indeed.
