Summary:The mutants go and have a secret party against the professors' wishes.
The night air was chill against Rogue's flesh and she shivered despite her full-body covering. She made her way quietly and quickly over the grounds at Xavier's school. Part of her felt bad for sneaking out like this when she had class so early the next day, but she knew that she would regret it if she didn't go.
The sound of thrumming bass reached her ears before she even saw the warehouse and she cracked a smile despite her reservations about the night. She pushed open the backdoor to the place and was immediately hit by the wave of heat that exited the building. Part of her regretted the fact that she had to be fully covered, but she couldn't bear the thought of someone getting hurt because of her.
As she entered she could see everyone was already here and laughing. There were people dancing and red plastic cups filled with liquor of some sort. She scanned the crowd for a familiar face.
"Hey over here!" came a call from behind her.
She turned around and saw Bobby sitting there waving at her like an idiot. She walked in closer, becoming painfully aware of how close people were standing to her.
"So glad that you could make it!" He said with a grin. He went to go in for a hug, but stopped himself. Thinking quickly he gave her a thumbs up. Without missing a beat he handed her the drink that he had just been drinking from. "Try this. I had Kurt mix it for me. He won't drink it himself, but it sure tastes good."
"Are you sure this is a good idea? What if we get found out?"
"Come on! We have to live a little while we're young!"
She took a sip of the drink and found that it tasted like fruit punch. Cautiously she drank a bit more, feeling the warming sensation settle down into her stomach and spread throughout her body. “Not bad!” She yelled, “Who else is here?”
From her left a blur passed through a wall. Kitty stood there in a black tank top and jeans. "Come on!" She pulled a little at Rogue and Rogue followed lest she take off the glove. "I found a nice corner we can dance in."
She followed her friend along, feeling the bass pump through her chest. The corner was a little bit isolated, enough to where she could move but not touch anyone.
It took Rogue a bit to warm up, but once she did she was able to forget that she was a mutant. She was able to forget about all the past, just for a night. She knew she would pay for this later. The professors would no doubt be waiting for them back at the school to give them a lecture about responsibility, but they seemed so distant right now that they did not matter. For once it was good just to be an irresponsible teenager with her friends.
