Fox are suing Warner Bros over Watchmen - I am absolutely certain that doing so after a great deal of money has been spent shooting the damn thing isn't simply a way of trying to screw extra money out of Warner Bros in a settlement.
If it was simply about protecting what they see as their rights, I'm sure they would have started the action in the last few years during which the movie has been reported as being in development rather than now...which only reinforces the fact that Fox is the devil.
Elsewhere, the
Tolkien Trust are suing New Line cinemas claiming that they haven't seen any of its gross profits from the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Part of the claim is seeking stoppage of any production of Tolkien's other works by New Line like, say, The Hobbit - and just when Peter Jackson had settled his own suit with New Line and come on board as executive producer (with Guillermo Del Toro rumored as director).
Hmmm....maybe New Line should actually pay some of their precious to the people and companies that they're contracted to do so?
Finally Star Wars is
returning to the big screen in August with the animated release of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, apparently a precursor to the new animated show premiering this fall on TNT and Cartoon Network.
Can't stop the Force!
