RIP Steve Gerber

Feb 11, 2008 19:34

Steve Gerber passed away yesterday, according to Mark Evanier's post on his blog after a long fight with pulmonary fibrosis. He was probably best known for his creation of Howard the Duck (and less so for Omega the Unknown) and runs on numerous Marvel books of the 1970s, such as The Defenders and Man-Thing, but I hadn't realized that he had also been involved with the excellent Dungeons and Dragons cartoon in the '80s.

His work can be currently seen in DC's Countdown to Mystery.
