First: I beg, flist. I beg. What is this I am hearing about the Chicago Tribune and something Clex-related?
And speaking of The Clex:
Oh, and I didn't even hate it, thanks to Allison Mack, who, honestly, deserves a raise and Michael and a vat of jell-o for how wonderful she is. Wonderful. "Pete saw your spaceship??!!". Hee. Hee hee hee. Chloe is just...sigh. I'll be in my bunk.
And, oh, Lex. I know that the SV writers are really pushing the "Lex is teh EVOL!" this season, but I'm really having trouble seeing it. Even if he did spy on Clark, and really, there's some room for debate in that, I wonder, really, what Clark thought he could accomplish by beating Lex up. Are we supposed to be rooting for Clark in that scenario? And it didn't really seem like Lex was spying on Clark so he could lock him up in a Level 3 type situation, more like he's just obsessed with being right. And once Clark just admits that's yes, he was right all along, things would go a lot more smoothly in Smallville. In the meantime, I'll take my hot, passionate "fistfights" and feel just fine, thankyouverymuch. I also have to add, Lex in Belle Reve breaks my heart. He may be ruthless, but God, you could see the little boy who is scared because despite everything, Lex has never really lived in a World Without Lionel, so on that level, he's just like everyone else.He just wants his dad back and Rosenbaum did that beautifully. Sigh. Again. Some more.
I've got another sigh for Clark because Powerless!Clark is pretty cute, and yes, even the Clana was pretty cute, up until That Scene. You know That Scene. I'll get to it in a minute. But happy, carefree Clark just makes me twitch a little bit in happiness because he's so freaking happy about it. It's adorable. It's also adorably naive that he thinks "the past can't hurt them anymore", but that's on par for Clark, so I can't hold that against him either. I can't even hold his asshatery against him, because it's what I've come to expect from Clark, at least where Lex is concerned. Frankly, Clark's outburst at Lex was fairly...interesting. It's the first time Clark's ever been able to react in a physical way to a strong emotion, and yes, he overreacted, but it's what I would expect. Clark doesn't know how to control a body that literally can do anything. He almost has fewer limitations now without powers than he did with them. I loved the look on his face after Lex punched him: confused, exhilarated, and duh, turned on, because he was feeling, and he was feeling Lex. I loved it.
Obviously, after that kind of intense experience with Lex, Clark needs to work off a little tension, so he has boring firelight sex with Lana. Ew. And I really didn't hate Lana in this episode at all. The cigarettes are hers? Nerves? Hee. Adorable. No, really. I mean that. But the whole scene just bugged. And ps, Clark? I thought you learned your lesson about the past not being able to hurt you. ie, tell Lana. Just tell her. Seriously. Put me out of my misery. Sigh.
Next week, Clark haters get their wish and he dies. Hm. I wonder if this will somehow result in him getting his powers back and then moping.
