Damn you, internet!

Well, after having an entire day of internet, it's been done again. I'm posting on Becca's computer. Cox thinks the problem is my modem, and that I should come by and exchange it. So I'm going to try and do that this weekend. In the meantime, I would like to take this time to post something extraordinarily geeky.

After we get through with our Greek campaign (which I could wrap up in probably about four sessions, or drag it out longer), Toaster's going to run a campaign in a fantasy Renaissance setting. Me being me, I've been already coming up with character ideas, that I'd like to share with you.

Felix Ironbelly
Concept: Two fisted inventor/treasure hunter
Background: Felix is the son of a famous Dwarf inventor, but with six older brothers, there is no place for him at his father's shop, nor does he have the resources to open his own. After doing a stint in the army, he decides that it is for the birds, and decides to strike out on his own. He thinks of all those underground tombs and forgotten towers just sitting there, loaded with treasure, just waiting for some enterprising Dwarf to come take it. So he grabs his broadsword, his buckler, and his toolkit, and heads out to make his fortune!
Mechanics: Felix would start as a Fighter, and pick up levels in Artificer once he gains the capital needed to really start inventing. He would have an high Intelligence, above average physical attributes, and low Wisdom and Charisma. His Alignment would be True Neutral.

Brast
Concept: Natural Philosopher and Missionary for the god of magic
Background: An orphan raised by the Church of Boccub (that's D&D's magic god, right?), Brast grew into a promising, if unorthodox, student. He is developing a somewhat strange theory that there is no difference between divine and arcane magic, and furthermore that there is no such thing as the 'supernatural', but what we perceive as fantastic or unnatural only comes from a lack of understanding of natural universe. He has been granted a missionary position so that he may travel the world, but has been supporting himself mainly as a schoolteacher and doctor.
Mechanics: High Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma, but average to low physical stats. As a priest of Boccub, I would have him alternate between Cleric and Wizard levels. His alignment is Neutral Good.

Farner
Concept: On the run Bravo
Background: A city-Elf of no status, Farner ran with the infamous Bichas Ain Chuet gang of Elves. Farner swaggered his way through the city streets, stealing, fighting, and terrifying the elderly. However, by freak chance, Farner was away when the rest of the gang was ambushed and massacred by their Orc rivals. Farner had sense enough to skip town, but now finds that he must find a way to support himself , and forge his own identity outside of a gang.
Mechanics: A Swashbuckler/Rogue, Farner would have a ridiculous Dexterity, decent Strength and Constitution, but probably not a lot going on upstairs. His starting alignment would be Chaotic Evil, but that would change after adventuring matures him.

Vampire Hunter Dietrich
Concept: This should be a no-brainer
Background: A young priest of Pelor, Dietrich was groomed since a young age by the church as an agent for the rooting out and destruction of the nefarious undead. Unlike every other vampire hunter in fiction, Dietrich is not a fanatic, however, just a meticulous, dedicated, if somewhat straightforward, soldier for the Church. And yes, I realize that this was at least partially influenced by Hellsing's Father Anderson. Hey, they can't all be winners.
Mechanics: Dietrich is a Cleric/Ranger, and three guesses what his favored enemy is. He would have high Wisom, good Strength and Charisma, and probably average scores in everything else. Alignment would be Neutral Good.

Sir Cahote Le Mance
Concept: Half man, half goat, all Crusader for Great Justice
Background: Cahote is a Bariour, raised alone by a doddering old Elvish knight, who regaled him all through his youth with stories of derring-do, chivalry,  and "the good old days". When  the old knight  finally died, Cahote  took his lance and whatever armor that could fit on his unusual frame, and vowed to honor the old knight  by proving that Chivalry, Honor, and Courage can still exist in the modern world. And with that, he scampered off to make the world a better place. (I'm allowed a silly one, right?).
Mechanics: Cahote is the only character in this list who's not dual classed, as he is not a Renaissance Man. He's all Paladin, baby (not sure how to do his mount, though. He's kinda already his own mount). High Charisma, ridiculous Strength. Probably not that high of a Wisdom for a Paladin, though, and I can't imagine him being all that bright.

Anyway, whatcha think?
