Today I went shopping. As I previously posted, I have gotten the new job at Child Support. But, unfortunately, my current wardrobe of blue jeans and ironic t-shirts proves insufficient for an 8-5 government job, especially one where I'm required to testify in court. I have a few sets of 'good' clothes, but not enough to last me day after day, week after week. So clothes shopping, that activity so dreaded as a child, was required.
Becca's mom is a Kohl's member, and had gotten this coupon that marked off everything in the store 30%. So I got equipped with a Becca and Toaster, and headed towards Kohl's so that I could buy the necessary clothing needed to trick people into thinking that I am a respectable person. I was doomed from the start. Becca and Toaster delighted in playing dress up with me, and no sooner would I leave the dressing room than one of them would have something new for me to try on (Of course, it's not the trying on that's annoying, it's the futile effort to fold the item back the way it was).
Truth be told, it was not that bad. In fact, it was actually kind of fun (I'm turning into such a girl. Argh! Suddenly I have a desire to drink beer and lift weights). Though my weird frame makes me hard to fit, especially in jackets. Either the sleeves were too short or the rest of the jacket was too big. As Becca put it, we needed a 38 chest with gorilla arm sleeves. Anyway, It all ended up costing about 250 bucks, which ain't all that bad considering that I got a lot of (nice, if I say so myself) clothes, including a suit jacket. I also got an Underdog t-shirt.
Well, that takes care of that. Though, I was kind of hoping to have some extra money for pets and an X-Box 360, but the new clothes takes care of a good chunk my disposable money for a while. Oh well, if I can wait this long, I can wait a little longer.
Anyway, that's all for now, and thanks again to Toaster and Becca for helping me out!
