8:05 PM 6/18/06 · After a number of attempts, way back when, the first mood theme I slapped together was called Fighter's Edge. It was a collection of game sprites from Street Fighter, Samurai Shodown, Last Blade, Puzzle Fighter, Darkstalkers, Fatal Fury, Guilty Gear, and a couple of other games I'd never played or heard of. It was well received by most everybody on my friendslist and I made a few other moods from the individual characters in it; wich I could enough of Red Aremeer (bouncy & cheerful) for a mood theme.
Don't think I ever advertized it but I did get a few requests to use it, only person I allowed to direct link it was
groovitude though I'm sure a few others probably did too. Sadly when my old account went away I lost it but it was one of the few mood themes I'd kept on my home system so it was ready to put up again whenever.
I decided to make some updates to it first:
Happy | Sad | Angry
Fighter's Edge There's a lot of sites I collect sprites from...a good number of which can be found linked at the top of my journal if you're interested. I removed the Puzzle Fighter ones in favor of more normally proportioned sprites and because I may make a separate mood theme with just them in the future. Mood sprites have a limit to how big they are too, not so much memory as dimensions, and that's 255x255. It generally resizes an image automatically, which is handy sometimes but would've made one sprite I'd wanted to use impossible. You gotta admit, this guy (don't know what he's from) just under here is a bit too wide (lengthwise) to be scrunched down effectively but he's damned impressive looking:
Using the
Mood Theme Editor, going with the display link up there, you should be good. Since it's been requested that I make things a bit easier, there's a zip file for all the sprites at the bottom of this, so you won't have to download them individually from the display.
