...not that i can back that up with any examples i can find through google... seems the artsy maroto style and maroto's more commercial works were pretty distinct from each other. and once his commerical career really kicked off, the playful and random hatchwork style got left behind. perhaps as too european.

but i swear siekniewicz (sp?) (i think it's 'sienkiewicz', maybe i'm wrong) was influenced strongly here, especially or at least in the girl, by the early and most european maroto work.

Meanwhile, from the Daisypicking In Left Field Department:
while looking for examples to back up my claim, i did come across an intersting page that focused on one of my favorite jeff jones compositions, 'arms up', that he used in a couple of places. here it seems jonesy copped it from maroto! argh, no, hope nots!
