labor story

My labor was long but well worth it. I woke up Sunday morning with strong contractions. I gritted my teeth through them. Monday they were stronger and i ended up at the hospital 2 times because i was in tears. Both times i wasn't dilated still so they couldn't keep me. One hospital trip, i was on the moniter for over an hour measuring my contractions and Jovi's reaction. They were worried because she was reacting to my contractions at all. They had to stimulate her by giving me ice cold apple juice.

The third hospital trip i was reluctant to go because i thought they would just send me back home. When i got there though, they checked me and i was 6 cms dilated in a matter of hours. I cried with relief when they told me they were admitting me. Half an hour later i was getting an epidural. They let me sleep for an hour (because i hadn't slept for 2 days before that because of the contractions) then checked me again (after i vomited). I was 9 cms, they decided it was time to start pushing. I pushed for an hour and a half. I couldn't feel the contractions in my stomach but i felt them in my right hip because of placement of the baby. I also felt the pressure. I had to push 3 times with each contraction. Her head kept rocking under my pelvis but finally i was able to push her head to crown. As soon as my husband, my mom and my MIL saw the head crown they all started bawling. I at that time was tired as hell and just wanted it over so i yelled at them to stop bawling, that i wasn't done. My husband told me he loved me and i said " i hate you right now" he's like "i know" She was born so fast that i didnt even realize it at first until i felt a big gush come out of me and i see my husband cutting her umbilical cord. I was so relieved because towards the end i had to push non stop and the pressure was soo intense it hurt. I bawled for half an hour because i was just glad it was done with. I had the hormonal shakes so bad that my teeth were chattering so i had my husband and everyone else hold her first and i held her fast.

It took 45 mins for the doctor to stitch me up. He had to widen me with his fingers to get her body through. I don't know the amount of stitches i have right now but i know its alot. I tore on 3 sides he said.

I lost a lot of blood with the delievery so now i have to take iron pills for anemia.

I think the worst part about the labor was the contractions. I would do it over again though ( but now for a couple of years when we try for a boy)
