Since now I'm actually doing things I can actually update this thing. Went to the Goethe Institut in Toronto for a European Film Festival with Russel Bright and Alex Drozdowska. Was impressed by the Italian entry. We agreed European cinema was probably an acquired taste, since it was starkly different from the hollywood movies we're used to - good uses of silence and plausible background music? oh noes! The Italian cultural director invited us to go to the Italian cultural institute to see 'gooda Italian opera.' We went to the ROM afterwards, but we couldn't get in because of massive lineups. So we went to Einstein's and saw Senators pwn the Ducks. Afterwhich I felt ever so slightly more Canadian now that I actually watched a game at a pub.
