In 2008 I read 54 books. In 2009 I aimed to read 60, but I also started making notes as I write, and was amazed how much that slowed me down (as well as how much I got out of it). I only managed 33, although in my defense some were big buggers like Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, Mists of Avalon, the Gormenghast trilogy...
