sigh. i inadvertently caused some drama in a community yesterday by asking a question related to my name-change plans. people saw an opportunity to shit on my decision with their personal opinions instead of considering the actual question. grumble grumble.
anyways, the people who actually did answer the question seemed to say that a hiring manager might look twice at my name, and might think it's weird, but would most likely focus more on my merits. some said they may be skewed against someone with such an unusual name in a very professional situation, but i'm not too worried about that.
i wish all changes were this easy. government, i want to change my shitty eating habits. okay comet, just fill out these forms and you'll be a vegetarian. sweet.
