You guys, check this out. I had intended to turn in a listing of the songs I had used in my movie to the teacher, just to give credit where it was due. But I forgot to print it out for class, so I emailed her the last afterwards. This is the email she wrote back to me:

Dear Laurie,
Your movie was terrific. You blew the class away--I could see that. At first I was impressed by your mimicking of the silent movie conventions, but then the power of your cinematic story-telling took over, and I was moved. Your friend has a wonderfully expressive face. Thank you for sending me the music--it was beautiful and so apt--and thanks too for allowing me to keep a copy of the CD. Maybe I can show it off to my colleagues ... I would like to find a way to show them your film.
