Livejournal update? Whaaaaaat.
Last weekend, a few of my friends and I went to Toronto despite the fact that we are all very, very broke. Evan and I were crashing at his friend Matt's place, so I mostly hung out with him and Matt. On Friday night, we went to see a play called Almost, Maine at the Tarragon theatre. Can you guess who was in this play? No? Ok, I'll give you a hint:
Mike Lobel a.k.a Jay Hogart from Degrassi: The Next Generation. As I've mentioned in an earlier Livejournal post, Evan actually went to school with Mike and has hung out with him a few times, so this is not novel to him. I, on the other hand, am still totally delighted by it.
The following day, we spent most of our time on a Coffee Walking Tour that Matt and his sister planned. I was quite excited at the prospect of wandering around different parts of Toronto, but the coffee tour ended up being quite long and not as varied as I would have liked. Luckily,
oldtactics came along for the adventure which was incredibly awesome because I haven't seen Alex in ages. At one point, we had to fetch her car that was still parked in the Junction which turned into an adventure itself as the TTC is a giant fail at getting us back to our original starting point.
After finding our way back to the group (and meeting up with
qwiggles1 on the way), we decided to get some food at the
Grilled Cheese in Kensington Market. We found a table outside, ordered our sandwiches, and then hung out while we waited for our food to be ready. Not long after, the waitress came outside to bring us our sandwiches. She looked really familiar but I couldn't place why I knew her. We ate our food, cleaned up, and left. It wasn't until we were half a block away that I said to Evan, "Oh my god, I just figured out who that was!"
Who was it? Hint:
MANNY SANTOS WAS MY WAITRESS AT THE GRILLED CHEESE.
This was very easily confirmed by a quick visit to her Twitter:
So yes, let's recap, shall we? Total Degrassi spottings for the entire 48 hours I was in Toronto: 2.
Total times I've been to De Grassi St. even though I beg someone to take me there every single time I am in Toronto: 0.
