I’m really such a small fry kind of character aren’t I?! (laughs)
Yamada: So it’s Dai-chan again~ (laughs)
Arioka: That’s my line! I’m tired of looking at you (laughs)
Yamada: hahaha. We’ve been put together for quite a few months and for the “Kindaichi” drama. It’s finally starting huh
Arioka: Right. There’s been a lot of event covering for magazines before it starts. That’s why lately it feels like we’ve been meeting a lot more
Yamada: When solving a riddle, the question, “What are the similarities in riddles?” kept being asked. I didn’t have a single riddle left after that (laughs).
Arioka: Lately if you ask the staff it seems that Chinen has been saying in interviews, “If an actual murder happened within JUMP, Ryosuke would run away from the crime scene” (laughs)
Yamada: That guy!.....he’s got me (laughs)
Arioka: I wouldn’t be able to do it either. The two of us would be of no use (laughs)
Yamada: (They hear the staff’s explanation) Eh, I’d fly right out of the crime place?! Then I’d go jump off the bridge in town and get right back to the scene?!...I’m really such a small fry kind of character aren’t I?! (laughs)
Arioka: Ah~ But there’s still characters like that in dramas. But those characters seem to surprisingly survive all the way till the end (laughs) My prediction is, Hikaru-kun would come in strongly and take control, but then he’d become the victim around the second episode (laughs)
Yamada: That’s possible! He’ll be walking down a hallway in the middle of the night and then someone from behind comes with a weapon to the head…that kind of pattern right
Arioka: Then he’ll turn around and say, “It’s-It’s you!” as he sees the criminal’s face but the audience won’t know who it was (laughs)
Yamada: There’s the tv audience (laughs) But you know, if they turned this into a drama, it’d be really interesting. The kind of drama where JUMP gets involved in a murder case (laughs) Earlier we said that “we’d be of no use” but, since we’re the kind of people that roughly solve it, we can be the kind that have “we know the pattern” kind of strength (laughs)
Arioka: That’s right. That’s why I think we’d be pros at keeping ourselves from becoming victims.
Yamada: First, our skill to prevent ourselves from becoming a victim would be, “Don’t come out of your room recklessly” (laughs)
Arioka: Ahahaha. That’s true! There’s that pattern, “Why did that person just go out alone?” Then there’s, “Reduce the amount of words you speak” (laughs)
Yamada: Yeah! If you start saying things that have no real meaning to you then the criminal will think, “This guy knows!” and you’ll be misunderstood kind of pattern. That’s why we’ll just stay silent and space out for the meantime. Then. Even if we start observing someone carefully, there’s a chance that we’ll become targets so none of that.
It was a fight to see who could damage their opponent with one phrase (laughs)
Arioka: Pretty much, “erase your existence”. In the drama, we’d be the people that wouldn’t leave any impressions (laughs). There’s a chance that if the drama was to come true, we’d begin to suspect that Chinen is the criminal (laughs). But when we do, Chinen will make it seem like he’s actively participating in the hunt for the criminal.
Yamada: He might say something like, “This is a pain” (laughs) He could probably break through you.
Arioka: Then wouldn’t it be possible for him to have the power of observation? But on this time’s “Kindaichi”, we were both able to match up to the crime cases. Johnny’s have suited the detective roles the most haven’t they.
Yamada: We’re solving them aren’t we~ “I solved the whole riddle!” (laughs) We still have Conan and Sherlock Holmes to aim for (laughs)
Arioka: It’s a detective conquest (laughs) But then again, you haven’t done much of the bad person roles?
Yamada: Being cold hearted….something like that, right? Nope, nope. I wonder if the day Dai-chan gets that kind of role will come someday~ Do you have a crazy-kind-of part to you? (laughs)
Arioka: I don’t know~? Although I’m the playful type of character, perhaps, in the bottom of my heart I’m hiding the fact that I do have a bad part to me?
Yamada: Not possible (laughs)
Arioka: But I really don’t know. Up until now, not once in my life have I snapped that badly. That type of people get really scary when they’re mad. Because I don’t have that sort of experience, when that time comes I won’t have any actual proof of how scary it’ll be.
Yamada: The other day, Dai-chan and I had this kind of talk too. “If JUMP had a serious fight, who would win?” (laughs)
Arioka: Right. We couldn’t imagine it at all. Who do you think is strong?
Yamada: Maybe me or Hikaru-kun is what I can imagine. But he had absolutely no power the other day when we wrestled (laughs). So it might be my victory!
Arioka: I don’t think I can beat Yamada like that (laughs) Even in arm wrestling, Yamada is #1 in JUMP.
Yamada: Right, I won’t lose to anyone!

Arioka: Although if it’s thumb wrestling, I’m strong at that (laughs) I can’t have a bad person role (laugsh)
Yamada: Speaking of fights, during the filming of this drama, I got into a fight with Dai-chan once.
Arioka: Ahh~ We did! Telling this story as our experience of getting in a fight in a magazine will turn this into an embarrassing talk won’t it (laughs)
Yamada: Seriously, we’re such elementary kids (laughs) On top of that, it was a fight through texting
Arioka: At first, we were both saying the things we really wanted to say and writing them into long messages but then it gradually turned into one phrase messages (laughs)
Yamada: “You’re a kid aren’t you”, “Annoying”, “Ah how dull”, “Hah? As if I knew!” stuff like that. A one sentence exchange.
Arioka: It was a fight to see who could damage their opponent with one phrase (laughs)
Yamada: When I sent him a text saying, “I’ve had enough, how about you call me” he replied saying, “I don’t want to hear the voice of someone like you~” (laughs)
Arioka: After exchanging messages like that, we ended switching over to a phone call. But, even though we had that kind of exchange through text, when we had the call, both of us were calm (laughs)
Yamada: Humans have to speak directly after all when things like that happen. You can’t reconcile through text alone. We ended up making up as soon as we made that call.
Arioka: Right. We mended our problem after 2 hours of arguing. So fast! But because Yamada has that kind of senses when it comes to a conversation, even if we’re together, I can be a peace in mind.
Yamada: If it wasn’t like that, shooting for our drama would have been really tough (laughs) We’ve already filmed quite a lot but, it’ll be starting at last.
Arioka: We started filming when it started getting cold so saying “at last” really suits it doesn’t it?
Yamada: Right. This time the drama has a plot that will make your eyes keep on watching. You’ll want to keep on watching while your heart pounds with excitement!
