[A group of men; beautiful like flowers]
Hey! Say!7
(T/N: Keito’s side of the scan is cut off, so pardon the incomplete translation for some of his answers :/)
Q1: What’s something you do in order to become beautiful?
Yamada: I’m only at the level where I use things like emulsions (t/n: moisturizing cream) and face lotions, but, compared to the normal guy, I am more careful. During the stage play, because I heard from Yuma that “Your skin will dry up in the dressing room” I started using moisturizers for my face!
Chinen: I don’t let stress pile up. I also don’t over think things. I think that’s about it. I love sleep, but it’s not something I do for beauty. Oh yeah, my bright character is what defines my sense of beauty.
Yuto: Because it’s a job where people watch me, the 3 things that I always take care of are my figure, clothes and mood. For my skin, I use facial lotions and emulsions that protect my skin from UV rays and I also do lymph massages. (T/N:

Keito:I definitely focus on arranging my hair!-----I’m always conscious that I’m being watched. I also read a lot of fashion magazines!
Q2: What moment have you considered to be beautiful?
Yamada: After people watched me perform my solo during our concerts everyone said “he has to shine doesn’t he” with a sense of awareness.
Chinen: There’s nothing like that~ (laughs) but perhaps, when we’re doing our performances in concerts, that’s considered a beautiful moment.
Yuto: The time when I dance and sing in front of the guests, making the best out of my height through a modeling job and being involved in acting activities for a drama. Every moment that I go forth with all of my might are probably beautiful.
Keito: It’s got to be the concerts, right? Being up on that stage is the moment where you shine the most throughout your whole life! (laughs)
Q3: What female gesture do you consider to be beautiful?
Yamada: It might be their smiling face. I think it’s nice that smiling faces are what make people beautiful. Because smiling faces are what make what’s inside come out, I’m able to understand those people.
Chinen: I think it’s easy to understand how it happens with Japanese clothing, but, when it comes to the time when they want to bribe someone and you’re wearing long clothes, for the sake of getting something, they’ll tug at your sleeve. That type of casual action is very feminine.
Yuto: When girls with long, black hair tie it up in a bun, and the moment they lightly comb through their hair. I think that’s the beauty symbol for Japanese girls.
(T/N: Non-Japanese girls can look cute doing that too! Lol)
Keito: I think it’s nice when they tie up their hair. I like girls that look well with a ponytail.
Q4: What about the Japanese language do you consider beautiful?
Yamada: When we went to Las Vegas, there was a person there with the word “Mother” tatted on the back of their neck. That’s when I thought that such a warm word might be a beautiful one.
Chinen: Isseki Nichou! (T/N: Killing two birds with one stone) After all, it’s fascinating how with one action, you can get a hold of two things. If life was exactly like this saying goes, then it’d be beautiful. Everyone would have the same kind of life going on with two opportunities. It’d be fun.
Yuto: “Itadakimasu” and “Gochisousama” Because they’re both words that go with one another, each carrying feelings of gratitude. Because these words don’t exist outside of Japan, it makes them lovely words.
Keito: (T/N: Scan gets cut off T^T I think he believes that a beautiful word is “幸” which means fortune or happiness)
Q5: (blank) kind of man is beautiful!
Yamada: A man with muscle. Not to the extent of being extremely muscular though. Rather than being tall and slender, something like being shorter and with a firmer body is better.
Chinen: A small man is beautiful! Well, I’m talking about me (laughs) there’s a meaning to this. For example, even if I have a small body, I still want to create an appealing world. That is my goal in this life, after all.
Yuto: Probably, a gentle man. The kind of gentleness that lets him understand a girl’s feelings; even if he is a man. A man whom you can tell he has a kind, gentle heart through his actions.
Keito: A man who is tall….has a good silhouette when wearing western clothing.
Q6: What member has a high sense of beauty?
Yamada: That might be me. There’s no special reason to it just that I have the clearest skin. It’s natural by birth, but, because that’s how the fans have being seeing it as, I don’t want to ruin it. I don’t want to disappoint anyone.
Chinen: Keito. Because he always does nothing but look into the mirror (laughs)
Yuto: Keito. Always, no matter where, he’ll be fixing his hair (laughs) With the exception of work, he’s always interested in hair styles. He’s a real narcissist.
Keito:…..when it comes to getting into make-up, I do it on my own, along with the hairstyle. …
Q7: What kind of scenery do you think is beautiful?
Yamada: The sunset that I saw at Hawaii. The sunrise is also pretty, but, between the two, I prefer the setting sun. You can’t get tired of it.
Chinen: The horizon that I saw in Las Vegas. After that, it’s the scenery of rural Japan. There are rice fields close to my home, there’s so much nature surrounding you, it’s a great place to spend a great time during summer break.
Yuto: Landscapes made by nature. There’s nothing that can beat beautiful scenery, in my opinion. The sky that immediately follows a typhoon is also beautiful. Scenery with clouds in a blue sky that move along like giant whirlpools also moves me deeply when I watch them.
Keito: The night view in town. Even though I don’t think much about it during the afternoon, I feel that the brightness of people getting along with one another during the night is pretty. It’s a mystery to me. I really like the night view!
Q8: Tell us a moving story about one of the members
Yamada: When anyone feels worn out from something, like working on a drama, we definitely help each other out right away. If they’re absent from rehearsals, we’ll remember his parts for him. I’ve been saved so many times. That’s the good part about JUMP, they’ll help out each other naturally.
Chinen: Once when I was on my way to one of the local concerts; the train I was trying to get on was delayed. At that time, by pure chance, Yabuchan happened to be riding on the same train that I was trying to get on. When he showed me his smiling face, I was able to feel at ease.
Yuto:During Johnny’s World, I dropped one of my drum sticks while I played the snare drum. Hikaru, who happened to be there since before it happened, picked it up for me. I listened to his reasoning and he said “It’s also a happening show”. I felt deeply moved.
Keito: When I’m depressed, the one who generally extends his hand out to help is Daichan. When I’m not as cheerful, the one who’ll notice it right away is also him. (laughs)
Q9: What work portrays a beautiful romance?
Yamada: The manga series called [B.O.D.Y]. I spoke about it before, but, when I read it, my heart races non-stop. I love it when I can feel that way on my own (laughs) I want to try saying that men also read shoujo manga.
Chinen: “Hana Yori Dango”. I thought it was beautiful because even though their lifestyles are completely different, they were able to overcome the circumstances. I grew to think that if both mutual feelings were strong enough, then they could overcome anything with their love.
Yuto: I don’t really watch romance, but, I’ve gotten interested in a movie called “500 Days of Summer” that Keito introduced to me.
Keito: I recommend the movie, “(500) days of Summer”! It’s a story about a man that falls in love at first glance with a girl called Summer. I like the feeling you get from works like these. (T/N: Keito has good taste. I recommend that movie too)
Q10: Within Johnny’s, who do you think is a beautiful person?
Yamada: It might be Shori (Sato). I think his facial features are greatly arranged. What you might call a, Beautiful Boy. Because I’m not really aware of other’s faces, I can’t think of anyone else besides Shori.
Chinen: That would be…me (laughs) If it’s about having beauty somewhere, then I’m overflowing with it~ (laughs) To put it in simpler words, it’s mind, technique and body!
Yuto: V6’s Sakamoto Masayuki. He’s a quiet, cool person image of a beautiful adult male. On the opposite side, Sexy Zone’s Marius has the beauty of a girl. The first time I met him, I thought he was a girl (laughs)
Keito: Yamashita (Tomohisa)-kun! His existence itself is beautiful! He’s got sex appeal, he’s manly, even I wish that I had been born looking like YamaP (laughs)
Q11: What song do you think is beautiful?
Yamada: I like R&B. I like Shota Shimizu. Because his songs are hard to sing, I find myself attracted to them. I want to try singing them though. Because a skill for it is important, I still can’t sing them.
Chinen: I like Tatsuro Yamashita’s “Christmas Eve”. No matter how many years go by, this song will surely flow through Christmas and it gets passed down through generations. It’ll continue to be a famous, love-filled song.
Yuto: JUMP’s mid-tune song, “Deep night kimi Omou”. Because we’ve only performed this song live once, it’s a rare song. Because of that, I think it’s the 1 song that can leave a fresh impression on the fans.
Keito: All of the songs put together for Cold Play’s 1st album “Parachutes” are great. The song’s phrases are good…their music is famous. If you give it a listen, you’ll understand its beauty!
(T/N: Gave the whole album a listen, Keito really does have good music taste lol)
Q12: Recently, what have you thought of as beautiful?
Yamada: During the Thanksgiving Johnny’s World event, when I was singing and Chinen was dancing, within the darkness there was a bright sphere of light that to this day, out of all the concerts I had seen, that was the most beautiful scenery I had seen.
Chinen: The line on Yuto’s lower back. When he puts his pants on; his long, slender silhouette looks beautiful. That’s the best jeanist (T/N: Jean clothing line) inside of me talking (laugh)
Yuto: Toyokawa Etsushi. I also thought that the photographer, Mika Ninagawa’s collection of photos were beautiful. I felt a certain feeling of manliness coming from the photos
Keito: The night view I saw from my hotel room in Thailand!
Q13: What past memory do you consider beautiful?
Yamada: The memory where I shined during my 4th year in elementary when our match’s outcome was decided by 6 points. Back then I thought I might have been a genius (laughs) But I remember back then that there was no way I could tell that to my team mates.
Chinen: Every year, I tell my grandpa and grandma in Shizuoka, “I’m able to swim this much now!” and I go into the pool and swim while they praise me.
Yuto: During high school on our trip to Hokkaido. The 3 years I spent in high school were full of fun things. The tough times were also a precious part of my compilation of personal experiences. I can’t forget that night sky I saw as a normal student.
Keito: Mine was during the time I was studying abroad and still didn’t know any English. A classmate I had was really nice and understanding of that and thanks to that I was gradually able to speak it. Now I’ve gotten good with English♪
Q14: What part of Hey! Say!JUMP do you think is beautiful?
Yamada: How aware we are of synchronizing our dances!
Chinen: When we went to Thailand, the day we arrived we went and had a meal. I casually noticed that we all were doing the same actions. Everyone had the same feelings so they all did the same actions. That was beautiful.
Yuto: We’re always thinking about how to improve ourselves next.
Keito: I think there are way too many beautiful points (laughs). We’re all great friends, if we have something to say to one another, we properly say it….I think that type of connection is beautiful.
Q15: What part of your body do you consider to be beautiful?
Yamada: My hooked nose used to be one of my complexes but, if others think Ikuta Toma’s looks cool then because we have the same shaped nose, I feel a bit happy!
Chinen: How the corners of my mouth are always up. It’s like; my heart is smiling and even my inner affections smile. In other words, life is happy! (T/N: Weird translation is weird lol)
Yuto: My whole neck area and my collar bones! Because that’s what I’ve been told (laughs) During concerts I often see that fans write on their uchiwas “Show us your collarbones!”
Keito: Probably my hands. I’ve been told that my hands are big and manly and that my fingers are long. It’s also very easy for me to stretch my fingers out when I play guitar. They suit me.
(half his hand lol scan was cut off :/)
JUMP Place-Tell us about your current state!
Yamada: A rich, super delicious thing that makes my eyes turn into hearts
Bulgogi pizza got my attention and it was super good! The taste is a bit strong, but, I like tastes that are like that from the start, making it incredibly delicious.
Chinen: I’m happy that I’m finally able to wear spring clothing
I can finally wear the black outer jersey that I bought a while ago. During that season it’s either cold or hot. Spring really is a mysterious season.
Yuto: I’ve been having fun lately being able to take pictures with a back light
I bought a reflector board for photography. Because I like photos with back lighting that keep the faces from getting dark, I use that board. It’s fun to have my camera’s equipment increase.
Keito: I’ve been enjoying morning walks!
…I’m trying to add them into my everyday life style. I wake up at 7 in the morning and I go to sleep around 10 at night….i’m lucky that I get to do it effectively.
