today in heroes

Peter and the Lass discuss the death of her brother; Peter suddenly has a mission in life; he prepares himself to journey to Montreal! Claire tries out and doesn't make it in. The uh, oh, so ugly popularity hierarchy of high school girls rears its head and she is denied on the basis of her ordinaryness. Monica has lovely ability which Bob admires and then goes, ah, well, now lets see if we can get rid of those powers! Oh, Mo. Um. Foreign People have a conversation about candy and promises and smile too much. Then Bennet beats up Foreign Guy and demands a conversation. And cue the intro screen. Heroes has begun.

(random thoughts: I really want to see the Petrellis united once more; I miss that brother-ness between them, although it would be an interesting homecoming now that, in a sense, they've almost gotten over each other; Peter doesn't have the same desperate need to rely on Nathan, mostly because he can't remember him; Nathan almost seems to be reaching that point where grief gives way to reluctant living and then to regular living...)

Back on! Claire is all despondent because she told her dad she joined cheer leading; now that she's been rejecting. Huh. West, or He of Evil Intent, advises her to take the top cheer chick down a peg. Meanwhile, back on the ranch the road, Sylar talks with the Wonder Twins. He tells Wonder Twin A that he used to have powers and that he wants to be special; she's like... er, right, Wonder Twin B wakes up and doesn't feel entirely happy with the conversation that Maya has been having with Sylar, or the newfound and misplaced trust she has been putting in him. Ando continues to observe the goins on of Hiro's Adventures of the Past... frankly, this past bit isn't quite as enthralling as I had hoped. It was cool for a while, but I don't think its going anywhere very quickly... I want him tied to the greater story line. But his princess notices that something is up. Foreign Man and Bennet talk; FM trained Bennet, taught him the ropes, and claims to not be afraid. But Bennet threatens him with the pain of Lost Memories. FM doesn't buy it, but Bennet orders the Haitian to make it so, and he does.

Oh, hello commercial.

They take a lot of memories. Then, Claire calls Bennet and asks to borrow the cars... she hesitates, and seems to catch that he's lying... but then, so is she. Except she and He of Evil Intent are planning something, something that involves black masks.  Bennet is offered a place in the Company, a newer, better, happier company. And the offer is not immediately rejected.  Meanwhile, Sylar leads the Wonder Twins to America, where they are promptly attacked by patrol border wannabes. Oh, dear. And Mo gives Monica the shot that could ruin her powerness forever. Great Mo, thanks. Except... he won't do it. He decides he's taking Molly and bailing on the Company. Sylar and the Wonder Twins are attacjed and she goes all power crazy and starts killing everyone, Sylar included. But they escape. The leaders of cheer are having a thing... Claire and West play a trick on the Top Cheerleader, making it seem as if Claire had been abducted by a flying man and then dropped to her doom, and then he goes after her...

The cheerleader girl reports Claire has been murdered, but she lives on! The police discover that she's been drinking and sucks to be her. Back in the past, Sark defeats people. They find the father. Turns out he's been told to  help overthrow the Emperor. Uh oh. Mo visits Molly and is persuaded by Bob to stay again. Right. He fails even more. Back in the past, Hiro zips the princess out of the battlefield and into... um... yeah.

COMMERCIAL.

The princess realizes that Hiro has been doing things with his incredible powers. They kiss. He damns the space/time continuum while Sark watches from afar, disgusted by the sight, I think. But the story is over. Sylar and the Wonder Twin B fight. He doesn't want them to become killers. She swears they need Gabriel. He says okay, but he says that he isn't going to help her anymore.  And Sylar tells him that he is going to kill the Wonder Twins; otherwise, it doesn't matter because Maya is oh, so easily corrupted. Claire is upset by the trick, but West convinces her that it is all okay. Claire is offered a position on the squad. Bennet and FM talk; it turns out that a previous daughter died.... all FM has of them is the dead daughter. For that, FM finally confesses. He gives them the location of the daughter. But anyways, they decide to destroy the FM and his home. Bennet kills him.

Sark is sad and betrayed. He loves the princess, too. Bad Hiro! But Sark has already sold them out. And fast. Meanwhile, Monica is a Company girl now; they have her oh, so supplied. Niki is also a Company agent, and Mo's new partner. They find paintings of the Future. Including the one where Bennet dies. Peter and the Lass are in Montreal. He finds a note from Adam. Ah, Adam.... huh? The company is danger. Peter and the Lass are transported to a place where... umm, basically life once again sucks. New York is evacuated.  IN JUNE. AGH. Curses.

End episode.

Oh. Dear.

Next week, in the future, most of the world is dead! Evil has decided our destiny. Um. Other bad things abound. Ag!
