Merry X-mas Cookies

FOR COOKIES:
1/3c soft shortening
1/3c sugar
1 egg
2/3c honey
1t lemon flavoring
2.75c flour
1t soda
1t salt
FOR ICING:
1c sifted conf. sugar
1/4t salt
1/2t vanilla or lemon extract
1-1.5T water or milk

Mix shortening, sugar, egg, honey, lemon thoroughly
Blend flour, soda, salt and stir in
Chill dough.
Roll dough to 1/4" thick
Cut into shapes, place 1" apart on LIGHTLY greased cookie sheet
bake 8-10mins at 375°
Cool, ice, decorate.
ICING:
blend together, tint with food coloring if desired.
