Hell is not a place of fire and brimstone. Hell is probably not a place where you burn and boil for all eternity. Perhaps hell is more closely related to ghosts and poltergeists ( Read more... )

you bring up a good point. but now consider this.

Let's assume there is a God.
You don't believe in him.
God wants to lead you to paradise with Him in heaven.
Because you don't believe he exists, you don't follow him. (why follow something that doesn't exist in the first place, right?)
He can't take you with him by any means because he gave us the gift of Free Will- we choose whether or not to follow him.
Then, when the time comes, God will take all who wish to follow him to heaven. unfortunately he is forced to leave those who rejected him behind.
Those who are left behind are left in hell and there of their own accord.

In regards to this type of final eternal hell, its not a place of fire and brimstone where nor is it a punishment for rejecting God. Hell is, in simplest terms, the absence of God. The absence of God is the absence of love and all other gifts he bestowed upon all mankind- both those who accepted him and those who did not.

So you see, God by no means "sends" anyone to hell. They are there of their own accord because they refused to follow him to paradise.

That's my take on it at least.
