St Paul Protests
I WAS THERE!
went to the capital tonight to check stuff out for the protesting against the republican conference, rage against the machine was supposed to be there but the police wouldn't let them play so we all sat peacefully singing and chanting around a guy (sounded like the lead singer of rage) who was on a bull horn! then we walked the streets chanting for blocks there were riot cops everywhere!!! there was even a cop behind us with a flashing sign saying "march route stay back"
then things got crazy, the cops were getting aggressive tellin people they needed to disperse cause the crowd was getting to big and they let off smoke bombs... lucky we were back about a block so we didnt get hit... part of me wishes i was in the middle another one is glad im not sitting in jail right now :)
it was so exhilarating being there... there were flowers in the grass, a commonness of people just wanting peace that filled the air, and at the same time my heart was pounding so hard out of excitement and adrenalin i thought my body would explode!
