Hey, I know it's been a while since I've updated, it's not like people read it anyway lol, but I'm still going to ramble. Anyway, if you're one of the select few that do read my journal, red this poem, it's incredible. It's about concentration camps, and a 14 year old wrote it.
The Sky in its Blue
The sky in its blue,
The roses, dressed in their sorrowful red,
Seem as though they are mourning those already dead.
The green, green grass, flowing in every direction,
Outlining the train tracks that lead to destruction.
From the small glass window in my family's little cell,
I wonder where my friends are
In Hitler's endless hell?
I try to forget of the horrors I was told--
Of the young, sick, frightened, and old.
The world is not as kind as I had always thought.
Back then, God never forgot.
But now in this place,
My thoughts turn to Him,
"Why are you doing this? Why is this happening?"
I scream within.
I do not understand why He has forgotten.
Does he no longer care,
About his people in the thin, navy blue cotton?
Flowers outside bloom without a care,
Outside my window, flocks of birds fill the air.
How I wish I could join them and fly far away,
As I ask myself,
"Is today my last day?"
