Pavel falls in love slowly. At first it is only a reaction. He loves the way Henrik’s body twists. He loves Henrik as a verb, writhing, laughing, swallowing, sucking.
But falls faster and faster, gathering momentum once it starts. Pavel falls in love with the silent parts of Henrik’s body. The dip under his lip, the way his fingers clench and he tips his head back when he’s trying to be quiet.
It’s a tiny thing that tips Pavel over the edge into love. Waking up, slightly hung over, slightly blurry eyed in a slow part of the season. Henrik was dressing quietly sitting on the side of the bed and Pavel grabbed him and said ‘not to leave.’
Henrik smiled then; toed off the shoes he had been untying and pointed to the twin coffee cups decorating the bedside table.
